Pusat Ehsan plants Gaharu seedlings

A tree planting ceremony was held at the Pusat Ehsan, Kampong Bengkurong Masin yesterday morning.
Eleven Gaharu saplings were planted by Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abd Wahab, Senior Board of Trustees/Acting Chairman of the centre. Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Dollah, Managing Director of Gaharu Berjaya Enterprise Brunei was there to witness the plantings.
The Gaharu trees can be used for making products such as perfume, soap, toothpaste, cosmetics and scents for spa and tea. Gaharu tree products are exported to countries such as United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Japan.
Redzuan bin Haji Rosli from Gaharu Berjaya Enterprise said that the donation of the Gaharu saplings was aimed to assist the disabled in the country. It also aimed to introduce Gaharu trees as a source of investment for the public. Planting Gaharu trees can help the national economy and indirectly assist the organisations taking care of the disabled.
Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abd Wahab extended his gratitude to Gaharu Berjaya for its contribution of Gaharu seedlings to Pusat Ehsan which can provide long-term benefits to the centre. In addition, it can also beautify the landscape of the centre.
There was also a video presentation and an exchange of souvenirs.
Among those present at the ceremony were Pg Datin Hjh Noraini bte PDBLDR Pg Hj Momin, Haji Ahmad bin Haji Abd Rahman, Haji Abd Hamid Maaruf and staff of the center.
