SULTAN Omar 'Ali Saifuddien (Soas) College recently joined in the international Greenwave Initiative to support biodiversity and encourage environmental awareness.
The UBD Environmental Youth Club joined the Soas College Pre Vocational Department in planting seven citrus trees as well as Gaharu Trees which were donated by Gaharu Berjaya Resources.
The theme for the day was, "Trees to Support Healthy Food".
Fabrica Sdn Bhd also donated environmentally friendly reusable bags to the college to encourage less use of non-biodegradable plastic bags.
Soas College Principal, Pg Hj Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad said, "Events like this are crucial to instill in our youngsters a respect for the environment and an awareness of the responsibility that we all have to ensure that future generations enjoy a healthy and clean environment free from pollution."
He continued, "We thank our sponsors and the UBD Environmental Youth Club for joining our initiative and helping to make it such a huge success."
